Thermal and Phase Change Process in a Locally Curved Open Channel Equipped with PCM-PB and Heater during Nanofluid Convection under Magnetic Field

Thermal performance and phase-change dynamics in a channel having cavity equipped with heater material (PCM)-packed bed (PB) region are analyzed during nanoliquid convection under an inclined magnetic field. Curvature of the upper wall above PCM zone is also considered by using finite element method. Impacts curvature (between 0.01H 0.6H, H-channel height), strength field (MGF) (Hartmann number between 0 40), height 0.1H 0.4H) 5 17) heaters on thermal studied. In interior near regions PCM-PB, effects become opposite, while phase completion time (tF) rises about 42% at highest radius curvature. Imposing MGF increasing its has positive impacts change performance. There reduction tF 45.2% 41.8% when imposed Ha = 40 for pure fluids nanofluids. When all different cases compared, MGF+nanofluid+PCM provides most favorable case. reference case (only fluid without PCM) used, including nanoparticles results improvement 33.7%m it further increased to 71.1% PCM-PB installed. The MGF, nanofluid 373.9% as compared configuration.
